Woodland Camp Update
June-July 2020

Praise the Lord for His continued blessing and protection during this unprecedented world situation that we are going through. The construction at Woodland Camp had been slowed down, and the phase-completion dates adjusted. However, with the restrictions easing and the way of working within the COVID-19 regulations becoming more clear, the work is again picking up pace in the crucial summer months whilst being careful to keep the COVID-19 government regulations and the Health and Safety Executive guidelines. This includes the development of work team bubbles and track & trace procedures amongst other things. The crew size has reached around 20 regularly labouring saints, and we hope to be able to have a usable facility of 17 cabins, the completion of the refurbishment of the existing hall, and a good level of landscaping and paths completed before the end of October.

Prayer is still needed not only for this phase but also for the further development of this facility. We are currently awaiting for the council’s approval for the next phase (which includes the meeting halls) and a decision is due any day.

We feel this facility is crucial for the shepherding and perfecting of the saints and for the many new ones being opened by the world situation and contacted by the saints since the end of March. Please continue to pray that the facilities would be prepared in a timely way for the Lord’s seekers in Europe.

After the installation of the trusses and finishing most of the work inside of the cabins, the focus has been on installing the following on the F cabins and B cabins: framing for the gables, noggins, the first layer of plywood on the roof, insulation, OSB (oriented strand board), the second layer of plywood on the roof and membrane, and waterproof materials for the flat roof. Additionally, floor insulation with heating pipes, screeding, metal roofing, and cladding were being installed. Outside of the cabins, we also began to grade the soil on the east side of the camp, outlined the footpaths, layed electrical cable for the footpath lights, capped the gas valves, and reviewed the landscaping work. Finally, brothers have been working on the refurbishment of the existing pavilion.
